Before You Register

Proxy Wars is intended as a more accessible MilSim event that can be used as a jumping off point for TROPIC THUNDER.

With more relaxed kit requirements, and simplified, action focused ruleset.

At the same time it maintains the highly structured nature of Tropic Thunder.

These aren't just force-on-force run and gun games. You will have a chain of command, squad assignments, and missions to complete.

Links to each faction's requirements can be found under each force description below.

The Big Red One first entered Vietnam in the summer of 1965.  The division already had a long and proud history, from the trenches of WWI, to storming Omaha beach.  The division during this time had not yet received the draftees of the later Vietnam period, and as such still retained a professional military appearance.  (No cut off sleeves, no excessive helmet graffiti/anti war graffiti.)

US ARMY REGULATIONS

National Liberation Front(Viet Cong) Main Force Regiment was a standing army made up of soldiers recruited from both the north and south.  Trained in North Vietnam, these divisions were equipped with the same uniforms and weapons as their North Vietnamese Army counterparts (though they lacked heavy weaponry such as artillery). Working in conjunction with the local militias, these main forces served as the heavy hitters of the Viet Cong.  This faction is for those who desire a more traditional, military based structure.  They wear uniforms and are unable to blend into the civilian populace.

NLF MAIN FORCE REGULATIONS

National Liberation Front(Viet Cong) Guerrillas contained numerous local militias based out of the various towns and villages that dotted the south.  Unlike the main force, these militias were made up of local farmers and civilians.  Able to blend into the populace, these militias were essential in gathering information, collecting food and taxes, and exerting control over the local populace.  Unable to take the US forces head on, they quickly became experts at sniping, ambushing, and sabotage.
